For example, one of the biggest problems affecting urban cities is wastage. Pollution is another. These problems can cost a pretty penny to fix. A Smart City will place sensors<\/a> along pipes and meters to detect leaks, alerting plumbers as fast as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Quality sensors help reduce emissions. For instance, the sensor could detect the exact source if a toxin fume made its way through the city. Authorities can then work to cut the emissions. This smart tech is also helpful in homes<\/a>. Patients can consult<\/a> with doctors via video calls and personal messaging. They can then receive life-saving health alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the focus is technology, this is not the only feature of Smart Cities. Citizens must buy-in and use the tech for it to succeed. Without public input, it becomes just another city with tech advances. Smart City technology<\/a> helps citizens have a say in the running of their city. They can use apps to talk to government officials about local issues. These apps also enable easier sharing of information within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
