Een bewustwordingscampagne genaamd, Verlicht het blauw<\/em>, vindt u veel prominente bezienswaardigheden, hotels, musea, bruggen en winkels met opvallende blauwe verlichting uit solidariteit met deze belangrijke zaak. Zelfs het Empire State Building zal op de avond van 2 april blauw verlicht zijnnd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De impact van autisme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If any developmental disability deserves our immediate attention it is autism. At present, it is estimated that 1.5 million Americans are affected personally<\/a>. It is the most rapidly growing developmental disability in the nation, with an astounding 10-17% annual growth rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naast de impact die autisme heeft op individuen en families, heeft het ook een enorme financi\u00eble impact. Er is voorspeld dat de kosten van huisvesting en behandeling van individuen met autisme alleen al in 2013 de 60 miljard dollar zullen overschrijden, met kosten die gegarandeerd de komende jaren zullen stijgen.
